Happy New Year

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

I am certainly hoping that 2011 is going to be the year for Tee and I to at least get approved in the local adoption process and maybe even to bring our child home.

I've been very preoccupied with the process over the break.  Even though the agency is only closed for a week I find myself wanting to continue with the interviews - very impatient of me isn't it?

So just a short note today to all of my readers that:  I hope you have a very happy new year and that you achieve all your hopes and dreams for 2011.

Happy Holidays to All

OK, So I am a little late on the well wished but hosting 2 families this Christmas was a little busy.  So to all of you out there - Merry Christmas and I hope you have a very safe and Happy New Year.

So at the moment Tee and I are still going through the process.  On Thursday Tee had his first interview with our Social Worker. He came out of the meeting very positive.

I feel it is a bit wierd at the moment having individual interviews.  I would rather be going in together, but i know that the agency need to compare what each of us say to make sure it matches up but I will be happy when the join interviews get going.

For this week the agency is on holidays so there is nothing happening, however, both Tee and I have another individual meeting each early January and are hoping that the joint interviews will start soon after.

Al the best to all of you and your families

Post Mortem: Interview #1

Hi Followers.

Our interview process begun today with me going first.  The best way to describe the session is that it was basically "getting to know you".  The SW (social worker) asked questions based around me, my family (structure and relationships) as well as my childhood.

So far not much has been spoken about our relationship (only sorta how we met) or the actual adoption but I guess that is in future meetings.  Tee's first appointment is next week and it looks like we will both have another individual interview early in January.

Getting nervous

Well I am getting a little nervous about the first interview tomorrow - I've been told it will be just like a chat but still I wonder what questions the SW will ask...

To prepare I re-read the life story that I wrote a few months back but other than that I dont think there is anything else to do other than go in there and be myself.  So in the words of mum  I just need to be my awesome self - wish me luck

The journey so Far...

Hi Everyone,

So I am a first time blogger, bus thought I would get things underway with what has been happening so far...

Back in January 2010 (yes 11 months ago) my husband and I made our first call to one of the adoption agencies here in Victoria.  I feels like it has been a long time but we are now approching the interview stage.

But it is not only the 11 months that got us here but really it has been the last 10 years of our lives.  After years and a lot of money spent on IVF we decided that it would be better for us to take a more positive approach to becoming parents...

The process so far has not been too bad.   We attended our information session at the beginning of March, and education sessions in April.  We completed the application fairly quickly which was a major undertaking, including both T and I writing our life stories which was an interesting exercise.  The rest of the time we have spent waiting for interviews to start.  It will be a long process but it is one that we are both ready for and excited about.

I hope you enjoy following our journey
